Exchange Server · end of support
Exchange 2016 and 2019 are out of support. Their mailboxes still need a home.
Microsoft ended support for Exchange Server 2016 and 2019 on October 14, 2025. Servers still running them no longer get regular security fixes, and they face the internet every day. For most small and mid-sized customers, the next step is Microsoft 365.
What moves
- Mail, calendars, contacts and tasks, read over EWS, with every folder.
- In-Place Archives, in the same pass, into an "Online Archive" folder of each person's new mailbox.
- Full Access, Send As, Send on Behalf and folder permissions, mapped to the new accounts.
- Inbox rules and automatic replies.
- Distribution lists, mail-enabled security groups, room lists and dynamic lists, created in the new tenant with their members.
How it goes
- Read-only on the old server. Mygration signs in with an Exchange admin account and only reads. Nothing is changed or deleted there.
- Pre-stage, then cut over. Copy older mail weeks ahead; after the MX records switch, one short pass picks up what's new. Nothing is copied twice.
- A worker on site. Run a worker at the customer's office, next to the Exchange server, over outbound HTTPS only. Nothing needs to be opened up to the internet.
- Everyone knows. Each person gets an email before and after their move, with their own sign-in steps.
- Proof at the end. A report the customer can sign off on: every mailbox, every folder counted in the new tenant, and anything that couldn't move, with why.
On your servers
Mygration runs on a server you control. The customer's mail goes from their Exchange server to Microsoft 365, and nowhere else: no third-party cloud in between, and every password kept encrypted.
